What does \u201csustainable\u201d really mean? \u00a0Simply put, it means that what is being done can be kept up.<\/p>\n

In the past few decades, consumer products have been anything but.\u00a0 Take modern smartphones. \u00a0Their batteries will last 6 years at best, and even if a replacement were available they are glued into the phone.\u00a0 If one breaks, it\u2019s garbage.\u00a0 That\u2019s not even taking the software factor into account \u2013 the software updates stop long before the battery goes.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t think that this is a viable long-term plan.<\/p>\n

Hand rub dispensers are like cellphones.\u00a0 They take proprietary liquid refills that won\u2019t be manufactured forever and are unrepairable if the case breaks or the pump mechanism stops working.\u00a0 This leads to frequent replacements<\/a>, which takes a toll on the walls<\/a> these are installed on.<\/p>\n
